Where the Long Trail heads into the woods

  • Where the Long Trail heads into the woods
  • An early easy section of trail
  • A little more rocky now, but still not bad
  • The trail went over/around this tree to the right. It was a large tree with the upper of the 2 sections nearly 2 feet in diameter
  • At one spot I took a breather, I noticed all the leaves around were still wet from the morning dew, but only around the outside edge
  • The forrest is getting a bit tighter now
  • A narrow spot in the rocks on the trail
  • There was a lot of Indian Pipe out on this hike. There were far bigger patches than this near the trail
  • The first of the rock scrambles
  • Where the Long Trail comes to the ski trail, there is a set of stairs to go over the pipes along the ski trail
  • The stairs were nice, but the steps didn't line up straight compared the angle of travel
  • Onto the ridge partially above treeline, the summit is in sight
  • A closer look at the summit
  • Looking down over the ski area
  • One of the tram towers and part of the ski trails
  • Looking to the east in the direction I started from
  • The base of the ski area
  • Big Jay
  • Ski trails from above
  • Part of the summit building, an open deck with walls
