South Turner Mtn 7/31/17
With last day to hike in Baxter State Park for this trip, I decide to hike South Turner Mountain (3,110 ft). This would get me a different view of Mt. Katahdin than I have had before, plus allow me to go past Sandy Stream Pond twice where there is a good chance of seeing a moose. The hike was a total of 4.51 miles with an overall elevation gain of 1,699 ft. The weather was sunny and a bit humid without much breeze at all. I did end up seeing a moose when I returned to Sandy Stream Pond, but she didn't stay long enough for pictures since I came out pretty close to where she was feeding
