More rocks and roots as we get closer to the top

StinsonMountain2031

  • More rocks and roots as we get closer to the top
  • Liliana and I had discussed earlier in the hike how a tree can sometimes grow on top of a rock. These two trees gave a great example that I could point out to her
  • Liliana found two leaves that had started to change color and fell on the ground
  • Lots of rocks in this section of trail. There were still pretty easy to get around though or step from one to another
  • An interesting birch tree we saw next to the trail
  • The trail is a bit more gradual in the section with a couple switchbacks
  • A section of trail with lots of roots
  • Looking back down the trail below the section of root in the previous picture
  • At the top. There are old footings and the start of the stairs from an old fire tower that is longer present
  • View southeast from the summit
  • Liliana resting on one of the footings at the summit
  • View southeast from the summit
  • Part of Plymouth can be seen down below
  • Looking out over Plymouth and Rumney with Tenney Mountain behind
  • Some of the wind turbines on Tenney Mountain
  • A rock pit and RV Park down in Rumney along route 25
  • View to the south from the summit, looking out over Rumney
  • View southwest from the summit
  • View south from the summit
