Stinson Mountain 8/15/21

Liliana's fourth hike on the NH 52 With a View list and a new peak for myself as well. We took advantage of a nice cool day to do a hike together in the southern White Mountains. The hike was great and everything went well. Stinson Mountain is 2,900 ft in elevation and today's hike was a total of 4.82 miles with 1,410 ft of elevation gain

  • The start of the trail. With only one trail heading up to the summit it's an out and back hike unless you want to bushwhack the entire way
  • Early sections of the trail are easy hiking with only a small incline
  • Liliana is my hiking partner for the day. This will be her 4th peak on the NH 52 With a View list
  • Gradually the trail gets a bit steeper while still being pretty smooth
  • Snack break
  • While we were taking our break I was noticing the textures on the bark of this tree
  • A small yellow mushroom growing at the base of the same tree
  • Blue bead lily with a few spider webs on it
  • Looking up the trail from our break spot
  • The tree with the textured bark and mushroom at the base
  • Getting up higher it starts to get a little rockier with more roots in the trail
  • Fueled up and getting ready to go again
  • A spider hanging out on a web in a tree next to the trail
  • A spider hanging out on a web in a tree next to the trail
  • Liliana gives Miles a hug while we take another break. This time on a bridge where the hiking trail and snowmobile trail coincide
  • Looking down the trail from the snowmobile bridge
  • Looking up the trail you can see the small sign indicating the hiking trail going left just before another snowmobile bridge
  • Liliana on top of a large rock in the trail
  • A small brook that comes up next to the trail. It was dry at the time though
  • Striking a pose for the picture
