11-03-2010 Climb

15th hike up the mountain so far this year. Today I went finding some more points of interest and did some exploring as well. It was a great hike. The weather was cloudy when I left the house, but the sun came out early on in the hike and the weather turned out great. It was sunny and 43 on the summit with very little wind.

  • There were many chipmunks running around today. I almost had one run over my foot on the way down
  • The start of the White Cross Trail is pretty gentle
  • But then it suddenly heads uphill over large rocks
  • Just after you think the first climb is done, the second rocky climb comes up in the trail
  • The second climb
  • A tree that has been disformed behind one that has been broken
  • Right after the second climb, comes yet another one
  • At the top of the third climb is the first of the nice outlooks

  • How convenient that the mountain had stairs where they put the trail
