8th hike up of the year. Today was suppose to be partly cloudy and windy, but ended up being mostly cloudy and windy with only a few breaks of sun early on. On the summit the wind was pretty constant around 25mph and the temp was 35 degrees. It also was snowing some off and on while I was high up on the mountain

  • I started off on the Royce Trail
  • In one small section, there were 7 piles of moose droppings in or directly next to the trail
  • At the edge of the state park boundary
  • One of many stone walls on the mountain
  • The Royce Trail as it crosses through a stone wall
  • The trail heading past some big rocks
  • Nearing the end of the Royce Trail there was some muddy sections
  • Brook crossing at the start of the Fairy Spring Trail
  • Passing by Fassett's Mountain House
  • Heading further up the trail
  • Water coming down the rocks at Fairy Spring
  • Nearing the top of the Fairy Spring Trail
  • The summit from Monte Rosa

  • After going up from Monte Rosa, I headed across the Amphitheatre Trail
  • The weather was nice for a little bit when I came to the Black Precipice
  • A large rock the trail goes over before going back into the trees
