You can't see the summit from the tramway parking lot, but it's up there

  • You can't see the summit from the tramway parking lot, but it's up there
  • After a brief section in the open hardwoods, the trail enters the conifers and into an area with an eroded base. This made for cool temps out of the sun and walking between two walls of snow
  • Coming to the first of four crossings of the Kinsman Glade ski trail
  • Trying to look down the ski trail to show how steep and bumpy it is
  • The first tower for the tramway is halfway up it's path. Which means that it's almost halfway up the mountain. The "first half" of the climb seems to have gone by quickly
  • Some limited views through the trees over Echo Lake
  • Another crossing of the ski trail. The crossings were easy to follow with plenty of blazes on the trees
  • Getting better views now from the ski trail
  • Looking out from the ski trail from shortly before the hiking trail leaves the area of the ski trail
  • Away from the ski trail and back into the trees. The branches are a bit low as the snow is so deep
  • From the start of the side path to a view point, I get my first views over to Franconia Ridge
  • The summit is in site now
  • The trail ducks back into the trees briefly before coming out onto the open rocks below the summit
  • Mt. Lafayette as seen from the trail
  • Mt. Lincoln as seen from the trail
  • The observation deck at the summit
  • Coming back out of the trees for the last stretch before the summit
  • A closer look at the summit
  • A little hard to make out, but the trail follows up through this area on the way to the summit
  • A nice view down into Franconia Notch
