1. New England 4000+ ft Mountains

Cannon Mtn. 9.14.19

The annual Flags on the 48 memorial hike. This year our team did Cannon Mountain. Weather for the day was cloudy, windy, and some rain. • The view was quite limited today, maybe 150-200 feet
  • I put in a quarter, but it didn't let me see any more of the view than without it
  • We were in the clouds with a steady wind the whole time at the summit
  • Looking down the tram line
  • The cables for the tram disappearing off into nothingness
  • A thermometer at the summit says it's only about 40 degrees today
  • The tram car just coming into sight
  • Getting closer to the building
  • They slowed the cars right down when they got up to the building as the wind was making them swing back and forth some
  • So he would't blow away at the summit, Miles came out back down at the top of the tramway
  • Heading back down into the trees
  • The trail coming down through the short trees up high
  • The trail crosses and follows one of the ski glades
  • Heading down while following the ski glades
  • An open slab of rock along the trail. A bit trickier today with all the moisture
  • Looking back up the trail after coming down a tricky section (given how damp everything is)
