1. New England 4000+ ft Mountains

Mt. Hancock & Mt. Hancock, South Peak (23-24 of 48)

The 23rd and 24th mountains would be combined into one trip with the first being Mt. Hancock at 4,420 ft and then Mt. Hancock, South Peak at 4,319 ft.
This hike was approximately 9.2 miles in length and had an overall elevation gain of 2,555 ft.
They were hiked on 12-19-11 which was a cloudy, cool, and windy day. It was 14 degrees when I left the trailhead and it had warmed up to 32 by the time I got back. Wind was pretty strong all day and the gusts were strong enough to almost knock me over on Mt. Hancock in the open. I never saw another hiker all day.
