  • A closer look at the view to the west
  • Even Miles came out to take in the view today
  • Just over a quarter mile from the cabin, we made it to the summit
  • This spot is the actual high spot of the mountain
  • Trail sign just in front of the summit directing hikers
  • Last time I hiked Mt. Cabot I continued past the summit to The Horn and then the Unknown Pond Trail. Today is a simple out and back
  • This set of foot prints leads over to the area on the west side of the summit that is supposed to have a view. Not wanting to sink in or put on the snowshoes, I'll check it out some other time
  • The Kilkenny Ridge Trail just before coming back out at the cabin
  • Just a few feet from the cabin is this open spot that use to house a fire tower. The view from here is the best along this route
  • On one side of the opening there is a view to the east
  • The Mahoosuc Range lies to the east and stretches into Maine
  • On the other side of the trail is a view to the west
  • More of the view to the west
  • A closer look at the Lancaster area
  • Heading back down the trail in the area of Bunnell Rock
  • A limited view west from the trail
  • Just north of the top of Bunnell Notch. The trail dips down onto the northern side briefly before giving you a short uphill climb to the top of the notch
  • Heading down after the top of Bunnell Notch. Almost no clouds now means some views through the trees and it's feeling warmer than it actually is
  • Staying on the side hill above the brook for now
  • Down into the saddle of the notch, the trail crosses over multiple side paths from when water gets high
