  • The trail head on Jim Dwire Road
  • The trail sign at the trail head
  • The early parts of the trail were pretty easy
  • Indian Pipe found alongside the trail
  • Looking back down the trail near the top of a large stand of maple trees that are used for gathering sap in the spring for maple syrup
  • Looking up the trail near the end of the maple grove
  • Now onto a much narrower path. This was the area where there was a moose in the trail
  • A large tree next to the trail in the direction the moose headed as it walked away from me before I could get out the camera
  • As the "berries" of this plant ripen, they go from green to red. This plant has them in multiple stages of color
  • Getting further up the trail, the bushes are encroaching in places
  • The steepest climb of the day is this section shortly before coming up on to the ridge and the Long Trail
  • A steep section before getting up to the ridge
  • Once up onto the ridge, there is a limited view from the trail
  • The first view of the day. A bit limited, but still nice to have a view
  • An enjoyable section of trail along the ridge
  • A fun scramble up over some exposed rock
  • Entering the Green Mountain National Forest
  • The last bit of trail leading up to the summit
  • The summit itself is pretty uneventful
  • Miles hangs out next to the small summit cairn
