Mt. Hale (26 of 48)
The 26th mountain would be Mt. Hale at 4,054 ft.
This hike was approximately 4.4 miles in length and had an overall elevation gain of 2,266 ft. Plus, being winter, Zealand road is closed and required another 5.5 miles of hiking. It was hiked on 1-15-12 on a day where it was partly cloudy with just a light breeze. The temp when I started was -9 degrees and on the summit it had dropped to -13 degrees. Back to the truck at the end of the hike it was finally above 0 at 3 degrees. This was a good hike in very cold conditions. Not many other hikers, but there were a fair amount of cross country skiers on the road.

20 / 40
This was a nice section of trail traversing the sidehill on a narrow path. Poor footing would make for an easy slide here
