  • The view up to Mt. Washington coming into Conway. It's looking to be a great day
  • That start of the trail from the parking lot
  • A large that has fallen and is held up above the trail
  • Starting into some gradual and easy switchbacks
  • A Purple Trilium getting ready to blossom
  • The Rocky Branch Trail stays at a moderate grade with occasional rocks
  • A wet section of trail leading into a very gradual downhill stretch
  • The trail had a series of rocks so you could keep your feet dry and cause as little damage to the trail as possible in the mud
  • The start of the Engine Hill Bushwhack on the height of land
  • A little more snow here where the trees provide more shade
  • A limited view up to Montalban Ridge and Mt. Davis just south of Mt. Isolation
  • The trail had a brook running down it that required stepping from rock to rock to keep your feet dry
  • Down to the first of five crossings of the Rocky Branch River. Getting up onto the big rock in the middle was a bit tricky with ice coating the two rocks leading up to it
  • Heading up the trail on the western side of the river
  • A small stream that runs across the trail and one of the waterfalls in it
  • Back on the eastern side of the river between crossings two and three. About two inches of fresh snow here
  • Up to the fifth and final crossing of the river on the way up the trail
  • Getting higher up on the Isolation Trail with plenty of blue sky above
  • A brief section of trail with very little sun thanks to the sun shinning. This was followed soon by packed snow in the trail knee deep
  • Finally up to the Davis Path. Only 0.9 miles left to the summit
