The 32nd of 67 peaks for this year would be Old Speck Mtn (4,170 ft) in Maine. It was hiked on 8/10/14. The entire hike was 6.325 miles with 2,716 ft of overall elevation gain and 3,038 ft of total elevation gain.   • A section of trail with stepping stones to avoid what looks like frequent mud
  • After a brief level spot, the trail heads up again
  • Continuing up and getting rockier
  • Finally up to the junction near the summit
  • Only 0.3 miles to go for the summit
  • From here to the summit, the trail is almost level and very easy
  • At the partially open summit area
  • There is an old fire tower at the summit. That means you must climb it

  • A wind farm can be seen to the east between Andover, ME and Roxbury, ME
  • Just into NH, a rain storm can be seen to the west

  • NH's Presidential Range can be seen in the distance
