The 32nd of 67 peaks for this year would be Old Speck Mtn (4,170 ft) in Maine. It was hiked on 8/10/14. The entire hike was 6.325 miles with 2,716 ft of overall elevation gain and 3,038 ft of total elevation gain. Heading back down the trail and passing an interesting formation of rocks. Also, it's starting to rain

  • Looking down the ladder of the fire tower
  • Lake Umbagog on the NH/ME border
  • The rain might be letting up to the west
  • Miles living dangerously and sitting on the railing of the fire tower
  • It's looking mostly clear to the north
  • Heading back down the trail and passing an interesting formation of rocks. Also, it's starting to rain
  • After a brief bit of sprinkles, the sun is back out as I go back up over a small rise in the trail while heading down the mountain
  • A limited view to the north from along the trail
  • Now steadily raining, I make a brief stop for a picture of the brook next to the trail. Under better conditions I would have spent more time here and tried for some better angles
  • Crossing a dry brook bed almost back to the trail head
  • A Google Earth representation of the hike. Starting out heading to the right, then up to the summit, and coming back down on the left
