1. New England 4000+ ft Mountains

Mt. Wildcat "D" Peak & Mt. Wildcat (21-22 of 48)

The 21st and 22nd mountains would be combined into one trip with the first being Mt. Wildcat "D" Peak at 4,050 ft and then Mt. Wildcat at 4,422 ft.
This hike was approximately 7.2 miles in length and had an overall elevation gain of 2,943 ft.
They were hiked on 11-19-11 which turned out to be a sunny day after a cloudy start. Wind was expected to be pretty high, but it wasn't bad on these peaks. The high temp for the day on the peaks was around 32 degrees.

  • A quick stop on D Peak for another view over towards Mt. Washington.  The sun is on the other side of the range and quickly going down
  • Mt. Adams and Mt. Madison
  • Coming down through a small ravine in the trail as the sun is almost setting
