1. New England 4000+ ft Mountains

Mt. Willey, Mt. Field & Mt. Tom (11-13 of 48)

The 11th, 12th, and 13th mountains would be combined into one trip with the first being Mt. Willey at 4,285 ft, then Mt. Field at 4,340 ft, and then Mt. Tom at 4,051 ft.
This hike was approximately 10.5 miles in length (including getting back to the truck) and had an overall elevation gain of 3,574 ft.
They were hiked on 7-7-11 which started off cloudy and foogy but quickly turned mostly sunny with temps on the mountain in the 60s and around a 15mph wind. All in all a great for hiking with not too much other traffic on the mountains

  • The only hard section on the Mt. Tom Spur
  • Immediately after showing up at the summit of Mt. Tom, the Gray Jays came out
