The 49th peak in my quest for 67 in one year would be Zealand Mountain. A good peak to do on a cloudy day as it doesn't have much for views. The hike was 12.6 miles with 2,221 ft overall elevation gain and 3,095 ft total elevation gain. It was cloudy to start, but cleared up partially later in the day.   • Vose Spur and Mt. Carrigain can be seen past the southern end of the pond
  • Back on an open section of trail as the sun starts to come out some
  • Looking over the trees, I could see Mt. Washington off in the distance
  • The open area at Zeacliff. The best views of this hike are from here instead of the summit
  • Whitewall Mountain on the other side of Zealand Notch
  • A closer look at the Ethan Pond Trail and the old logging railroad bed it follows
  • The Willey Range can easily be seen today. Mt. Tom, Mt. Field, and Mt. Willey (L to R)
  • Mt. Washington can be seen off in the distance as well. Just behind Mt. Tom
  • The view out from Zeacliff
  • Stairs Mountain and Mt. Resolution to the east
  • The view south from Zeacliff
  • Part of the Presidential Range in sight and out of the clouds
  • Mt. Washington and part of the southern end of the Presidential Range
  • Mt. Willey where I was just a couple weeks ago
  • Heading down, the trail gets a bit rocky
  • The rocks have been arranged to make the hike a bit easier and to limit erosion
  • The view into Zealand Notch from the AMC Zealand Falls Hut
  • A look down through the notch
  • Back down on to the old rail bed, it's an easy walk back to the car
  • A Google Earth representation of the hike. Starting on the right, doing the loop out to the left, then to the summit, and back using the shorter route
