Eyrie House Ruins
I went hiking with a friend on Mt. Nonotuck in Mass. We went exploring to go to the old Eyrie House ruins and then continued along to the ridge to Goat Peak as well.
The Eyrie house was originally built in 1861 and then burned down in 1901. A new building was started, but never completed. There was also an inclined railroad that was being built up the mountain to the site which also was never completed.

The house looks like it was very nice in it's day and had a nice view. We were curious what happened to it leading up to the condition it is in now

on April 16, 2011My brother told me an old man would yell at him from this house, when he used to ride the trail along the powerlines on his bicycle. That was back around 1994.
