03.14.2023 Snowstorm

A few various photo from a snowstorm and the clean up after. We got about 30 inches in our town and lost power for 2 and a half days. This was the biggest snowstorm of the year for our area. I took pictures early on in the storm, but not many later since I had to spend so much time doing cleanup and dealing with no power and heat all while roads accessing our house were still closed

Looking at our house from the street

  • School was canceled for both of the girl's schools and my work lost power, so we had a home day. Here the girls are depleting the batteries on their tablets since we already lost power and can't watch tv
  • Madison was watching her tablet under her blanket
  • "Oh, hi daddy"
  • Now she is keeping an eye on me
  • Looking down our walkway from the front window. This was about 1/3 of the way through the storm
  • I have to duck my way under the branches of the bushes to get to the shovels and snowblower out in the garage
  • My truck getting all covered in snow. The snow was wet and heavy and stuck to everything
  • Just minutes before I watched all the snow that was on my hood break and slide off in one large piece. Notice how even the antennae is coated in a thick layer of snow
  • Looking at our house from the street before starting some clean up. We had gotten nearly a foot by this point
  • Looking at our house from the street
  • The apple trees in our yard coated with snow (as well as the trees around the yard too)
  • Looking at our shed and house from the road
  • Small trees bent over from all the snow sticking to the branches
  • Looking up the street. The town was doing well keeping up with the plowing so far during the storm
  • One large tree branch that has already broken mostly off and is blocking some of the road
  • The girls came outside to help knock snow of the bushes and help keep them from breaking. But first we took some pictures of them under the branches

  • They are able to stand up under the branches here because I have already pushed through a couple times myself

  • After the first batch of snow removal, the girls and I went to Keene to eat lunch because we didn't have much at home and no way to cook it anyways. When we got back this is what we found. A barricade at our neighbor's driveway because there was a tree down on the wires before our driveway
