Bardwell's Ferry - Train Spotting

I met up with some friends to take pictures of a passenger special train that we knew would be coming through today. We picked this location since it would give us a few different options for taking pictures. Each of us could choose a different spot if we didn't all want the same photos.   • Just after parking my car, an eastbound freight train headed though. Since the train we were here for would be westbound, we had some time before it would show up.
  • Some tanker cars in the big freight train coming through
  • Next were the graffiti covered box cars
  • More graffiti
  • "Hey, stop taking my picture!"
  • The narrow bridge that the road uses to cross the Deerfield River
  • Looking up river from the car bridge, you can see the railroad bridge
  • Someone (OK, me) wanted to try squishing pennies. I placed them in multiple places to make sure to get the "sweet spot" between the rain and wheel
  • The railroad bridge over the river. You can see the red light of the signal at the far end. This comes on when a train is getting close in either direction
  • Before the passenger special came through, we were treated to a bonus small freight train heading westbound
  • Coming across the bridge while making a little smoke
  • Just two engines for this freight. The one that came by after I parked my car had four
  • Guilford Rail #374 taking the lead
  • The engineer didn't seem overly excited
  • Some box cars at the front of the westbound freight
  • A couple tanker cars thrown in for good measure too
  • More boxcars, complete with graffiti
  • The back half of the train coming across the bridge
  • Wires that go from the tracks to the signal box next to the tracks
  • The coupling on the back side of the tracks where the wires in the previous picture are
